So I've recently been promoted up the food chain in our district's technology heirachy, in that I'm now the co-chair for my building's Technology Advisory Group (TAG). We also recently retooled how our building TAGs work, and rather than meet as a district wide group, we're meeting individually. This means that while I have the added burden of providing more of the structure and agenda for the meeting (of which I'm excited), it also means that I get to dig a little deeper into concerns and projects that more directly affect our building.
Since our building, and the district, is currently tech-poor in gadgets, professional development, and peripheals (digital cameras, digital voice recorders, VC equipment), I was hoping to put together some simple grant resources that our group could look through and pursue or possibly pass on to classroom teachers looking to add some additional hardware/software to their teaching. I'm talking smaller grants (under $1,000) that would require minimal effort (no more than half a days writing) that a classroom teacher could realistically do over the weekend, and bring back to school on Monday to submit.
The
Oracle Foundation,
Tech For Learning, and other large organization grants are nice, but I'm really looking for the smaller fish; something that an individual or small team could tackle relatively quickly in order to attain small assistances. I'll definitely be mentioning the MACUL Grants in our meeting, so that one's covered.
Any thoughts on other places for small tech grants?
