Hey, I started using twitter (inspired by Steve Dembo). I'm still looking for good educators to follow and I thought the MACULSpace group would be a good group to follow on twitter. It seems I need some more distractions in my life :-)
So, if you wouldn't mind, who out there twitters and what is your address?
I just started right before the conference. I have downloaded twitbin; it is a Firefox widget that shows my twitters alongside the browser. I didn't attend Steve's presentation. What did he suggest? I'm trying to figure out the best way to utilize Twitter. I'd love to discuss and explore this- I am never at my desk long enough to keep track, and so much is fragmented. The other thing I've noticed is some of the people I am following seem to twit away all day, and others may only post once a week.
Hi Steve,
I am Scout7 on Twitter and I just joined MACUL Space. Not sure if I am a good educator to follow, but you may follow me and I will follow you. I also follow Steve Dembo and a few people that he follows.
In the short time I've used Twitter, I've really grown to like. It's a great resource, "tonyvincent" shared what seems to be a good deal. TigerDirect.com is selling Logitech USB headsets with microphone for free ($20-$20 rebate). All you have to do is pay the shipping. I ordered a set.
Twitter is a critical part of my personal learning network. I have created a network that helps me catch up and keep up with the many different collegues. In the twiiterverse I am megormi
I'm http://twitter.com/chericem I'm loving Quotably, the Quotably Firefox extension, and this Yahoo Pipe (which will strip out everything but the URLs, which you can then send to your feed reader) as a way of following threads of conversation and aggregating resources.
Thanks for this great information! I saw the request for URL feeds filters but never saw the solution. I'm going to definitely check this out. I've just written a new post on my blog about Twitter and would love your comments! You can view my blog @ http://hartlibrary.blogspot.com/
Hi Steve,
I've been learning a lot by using Twitter. I follow many of the educational bloggers and gurus. I also follow some "regular" educators. Both groups have helped me learn and grow. I'm at: https://twitter.com/cummingsl
I'm using the WordPress platform, and there is a sidebar widget for WP called Twittertools that allows the blogger to update twitter using a sidebar widget. If desired, Twittertools can update the blog with twitter tweets in the form of a daily digest (or individual postings).
I could have a few students from each section go up and do things like summarize the content or tell me what part of today's content they think is unclear. I could quickly add things like Homework assigned or other notes.
Here is a blog post with a bunch of twitter tools. Twitter Tools
