connecting educators & enhancing learning

I am very fortunate to be able to attend NECC this year! I am traveling with Mary S., SIGTELE's Communications Officer. We are arriving in San Antonio on Saturday, June 28 in the afternoon. We are returning to Michigan on July 3. Mary and I are both signed up to attend the Constructivist PreConference on Sunday, June 29.

Who else is going? When are you arriving and leaving? What special events will you be attending? Do you know about the Michigan Reception (with Virginia and Maryland) on Monday, June 30 from 6-10 pm at the Marriott Riverfront Hotel?

There is a NING for NECC 2008! You should check it out even if you can't attend. There are already some interesting discussions and the plan is to use the NING to extend the conference. I'm looking forward to "seeing" you there, whether it be virtually or in real life!

P.S. If you are a presenter like Michael McVey, please let us know about your session(s).

I'll be there - arriving on Sunday p.m. I'll be working as a volunteer Monday morning. See you there. Oh, I think I'm presenting on Wednesday.

Congratulations on being selected to present! What is your session about?

It is a review of my course on Web 2.0 (Virtual Worlds and Social Networking) in which I threw in everything. We had sessions within SL, Facebook, Ning, etc. and the students assessed the tools and platforms from various perspectives.

Thanks for the Heads up on the MI (VA & MD) gathering. I missed that. I won't be attending the AZ gathering so look for me. :-)

This will be my first NECC! I'm really excited and overwhelmed in anticipation of being overwhelmed. Thanks for the heads up on the Michigan Reception and ning!

I am green with envy! I would love to go-but my district only gives us 50 dollars per year for conferences. So unfortunately none of us can go! I am looking forward to your report when you get back though.

Next year's will be in DC - that's only an 8 hour drive. :-)

I'll be headed to NECC, my 15th consecutive year. The Michigan attendee party is super-sized this year, as we combine with ISTE Affiliates in Maryland (MICCA) and Virginia (VSTE) and sponsored by Tech4Learning. The event is also sponsored by MACUL and the REMC Association of Michigan. Mark this on your calendar: Monday, June 30 from 7-10pm at the Marriott Rivercenter Salon I Ballroom Level, 3rd Floor.
Please RSVP to Melonie Larkins at T4L by June 10 at melonie@tech4learning.com, or 877.834.5453.

Anyone going to NECC and would like to help us distribute some MACUL 2009 Conference flyers for exhibitors, should contact me ASAP. Won't take up much of your time, and hey, you're going to be spending a lot of time in the exhibit hall anyway, right? I'll get you the flyers and some tips on the best way to engage the exhibitors in considering attending and exhibiting at our event.

Sure. I'd be happy to help.

Thanks Lisa!
I'll get info to you on where the MACUL members will meet to get the flyers to distribute. I appreciate the help.
