Tim,

The way in which you describe Holland Christian, it seems to me that the overall way of learning is much like that of a montessori classroom. Children in the hallway, no front to the classroom, etc.

Would you agree with that description? If so, how do you get everyone on board? Where does this shift come from and how do you get everyone on board?
We are still pretty traditional in some, but we are trying hard to expand the options to demonstrate learning and use our learning spaces in flexible ways. We spend a lot of time talking with staff about the changes we need to make and encourage them to take risks and try new things. Failure is part of the learning process.

Tim,

What do you think has been the most difficult obstacle to overcome in having teachers use Podcasts as an additional learning tool?

We give teachers lots of tools and options and don't try to force the same thing on every teacher. Those that want to try a "flipped classroom" are supported from both the technical and pedagogical standpoint.
Do any of your elementary classes have 1:1?
Our elems are now prek-6th, so our 6th graders are 1:1 with Macbooks. Our 5th grade classes share carts of macbooks. We are working on exploring options with our lower elem. classes. We think we'll end up with a mix of Macs, iPads and iPod touches.
