connecting educators & enhancing learning

Is anyone working on a Tecnhnology Endorsement program? I already have a masters in Reading and not sure I want another masters, but am thinking about adding the tech endorsement. I'd be interested in knowing any programs that people are currently enrolled in and any feedback that you can give about them. Specifically, I'd like to know if the program can be done totally online, about how many hours a week you spend on assignments, and how much new information, skills, and ideas you are gaining from the program. Thanks!

Michigan State has a great program that allows you to work completely online. It's a part of the Master's of Arts in Educational Technology, but you don't have to get the master's degree to earn a technology certificate (3 classes) or the tech endorsement. Check out their website at:

My technology skills took a tremedous leap through completing the certificate program. Good luck!

Thanks, Janice! You are the third person who I've heard from that has given high marks to the MSU program.

Hi Karen,

I completed my program through Wayne State and would highly suggest that program. It is completely online and offers a route for people who want the endorsement only. I feel like it was a really solid program.

Thanks, Teresa. You are the first person that I've connected with that went to Wayne State - helpful to know it is a good program.

I am working on my Instructional Technology Education Specialist Certificate with Emphasis in K-12 Technology Integration from Wayne State right now. I will get the State of Michigan Technology Endorsement when I have completed the program. It is 38 credits and about half of my classes have been online and the other half on the Detroit campus. I already have my Masters and my district will not pay for a second but will pay for a Education Specialist Certificate.

I really like it so far. I am about half way through right now. You have to work but the classes have been very interesting and informative. I am a computer teacher but I can say I have learned in all my classes so far. Some are more challenging than others. Also some really good. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Karen, I'm a faculty member in the IT program at Wayne State. I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have about educational technology endorsement programs and/or our Educational Specialist Certificate in IT (since you already have your Master's degree).
