This is a site that helps when leveling books or checking across various leveling systems. This is something I have quickly accessed in Borders on my phone to view the DRA or guided reading level of a book before buying it for my classroom. http://bookwizard.scholastic.com/tbw/homePage.do
This is really neat. If my mom was still a teacher I'd let her know. However she still has teacher friends so I guess I'll still pass it on...so she can pass it on.
Great link!  I love Scholastic and all of the wonderful resources that it has for teachers.  This is one link that I will be using to access for appropriate DRA leveled books.  Thanks!

I just bookmarked  this onto my iphone.  Incredible!  For me I was most excited about this because our school has started taking the MAP tests where part of the results tells us the guided reading level.  The administration wants to us to stick very closely to the "just right" book rule.  So this will help me even in the library when we are finding books for my students to read.

Thanks!

Thanks for sharing this resource, I have often wanted a resource like this when looking for books at the library for my students. There is also a phone app called book catalogue that allows you to scan your class library books to put into a mobile inventory. The inventory includes a summary, your comments and you can use the app to check books out to your students for home use.

What a great tool! I have been trying to catalog my classroom library for several years, unsuccessfully! I think this would be  a great way to do this quickly. I could even have a parent help me with this.  Is this an iPhone app?

Great site for early childhood educators. I often get students with advanced reading abilities and this site will allow me to find books for them on topics that they are interested and are also appropriate for their level. I will pass this site along to other teachers in my building too.

Brittany,

What a beneficial site!  I have a ton of books at home that I would like to add to my classroom library.  Instead of taking all of the books to school to see if they are for my grade level, it will be helpful to access this site and find the DRA level of each book!  I checked it out and is very user friendly.

I appreciate your sharing this tool,

Marni

What a great resource! I know the feeling when you are at a book store and cannot recall what level the book is that you want to buy. This would be an easy website for me to check on my iphone when I am at the store!

Brittany,

Thanks for posting this.  I teach English in Japan and have gotten a lot of leveled readers (written for native speaker reading learners, as opposed to graded readers for EFL/ESL learners) but haven't had an easy way to compare levels from different series.

Wow! That is great. I immediately shared it with a friend whose son uses his ipad for assistive learning. This should help them pick better just right books. Thanks again for sharing. J

I do the exact same thing with it!  I wish they would develop an app that allowed you to scan the barcode of a book and it gives you the guided reading/DRA level of it.  It would be so much more time-efficient.
