Does anyone know what the terminal master's seminar course entails and how it differs from IT 8140? I have searched through WSU's website and found very little info. about the course. Thanks

I believe that the whole semester is left for us to complete our technology final project.

What final project are you talking about? Is this something that I should have already begun?

The terminal seminar is basically the course we will enroll in while completing our final project, not an actual class that meets regularly. Here is a link to the page on the IT website that has information about the course. There is a link to a PDF with project information, and some examples of the project. I would recommend going to see the Poster Presentations at the end of the semester, I went last spring, and it gave me more of a concrete idea of what the project would entail.

Thank you, Andrea. I had not run across that web page before.

Sorry no, I don't know but I would be interested in finding out also.

Guess I should have read further down. I do remember seeing pictures of others with their projects. I think I saw them in another class.

I think Dr. Barbour referred to it in one of his last emails to us.

Is our assigned graduate program advisor our advisor for the master's project? I haven't been able to find an answer to that question anywhere on the website...

Luke, it can be, although it doesn't have to be. If you are taking ED7999 during the summer semester you typically work with the one or two faculty members who are responsible for the course during that semester. if you are taking ED7999 during the Fall or Winter during the first (and only actual class) when all of the faculty are in attendance you outline your project idea(s) and then based on your idea, you and the faculty figure out who might be able to support you the best.

Thank you! There has not been much discussion or information posted anywhere about how the master's project "works". Your response is extremely helpful!

Actually, there is a fair amount of information on the program website. In the left-hand menu, click on Student Resources and then select Master's - or just go to http://www.coe.wayne.edu/InstructionalTechnology/resources-mast.htm and see the guidelines for the ED7999, examples of previous posters, and some general advice for creating posters.

Thanks Dr. Barbour.

Also, for anyone in my cohort, I found out that we need to sign up for the ED7999 course that is taught by Dr. Guerra-Lopez. The CRN is 30641.
