One way we get parents to participate in LSCO meeting is to offer incentives to their kids for their participation. It's amazing what a kid can get their parent to do for the promise of a special treat. It works better with elementary kids.

I will discuss this at the next staff meeting, thanks LaShawn.

I agree with LaShawn. Kids can get their parents to do what they need them to do especially if their getting something for participating. You could also send a questionnaire home asking parents some questions related to what they want from the school.

Hi,

I am happy to be a part of this site.  I teach high school in Detroit and would like to incorporate more technology into my lessons.  Of course, we don't get any time to learn any of this stuff so teachers have to figure out this stuff on their own time.  I would like to hear specific examples about how teachers (I teach social studies) are using technology in the classroom.  A number of my students don't have computers at home which causes a huge problem.  Thanks for hosting this site.  Look forward to learning.

Hello All!

I completed the Master's program in 2007.  My emphasis was HPT, however I am becoming very interested in the K12 stuff.  Let's network!!!!
