Need some ideas on how to use MACUL Space effectively? Here's a list of ways to turn the powerful tools that Ning provides to your advantage. Don't see 100 uses yet? They're coming!
Blogging
- Start a New Blog Post - Share your personal thoughts or discoveries with your very own MACUL Space blog. Use it for sharing, collecting, or reflecting on new discoveries in the world of education or ponder some more personal thoughts.
Community
- Invite Someone To The Discussion - Ning has the ability to "share" almost every comment, video, photo, and discussion with other people. If you find a forum discussion that you think might benefit a close friend or colleague, just click on the "share" link at the bottom of any discussion and you can send an e-mail with a direct link to the item to MACUL Space friends, or e-mail addresses.
- Host a Book Discussion - If you're interested in starting an online book discussion for professional development purposes, both the MACUL Space Forum and Group Forum spaces are great places to start. Gather a group of friends, pick a book, and start you discussion in the Professional Development area of the forum, or join a group dedicated to a particular topic (management, best practices, new media, differentiation, etc.) to start a conversation within the group.
- Share Your Event - Using the MACUL Space calendar you can create, share, and invite others to attend your event. Whether it's a large annual meeting or a small regional opportunity, all MACUL members are welcome to use the calendar to help share information about upcoming professional development or other important events.
Photos
- Share Your Conference Photos on Other Sites - Ning makes it easy to upload photos, tag them, and even create your own albums. Even better, once you've setup a photo album, Ning gives you a little bit of HTML code that you can copy and paste into any other webpage (just like YouTube) to share your photo album on other sites, including blogs, school sites, or the MACUL webpage.
Video
- Share Student Created Videos - Use the Video Section to upload student created videos from special projects and give your learners an authentic audience in a safe environment. Show it off to other teachers to get them excited about what you're doing, or to get comments on what to improve for next time.
- Post some Video From the Conference - Get your SIG members excited about next years conference by sharing some short clips of video from precons.
