Hi James,
Get ready for some excitement. There is so much to do at this grade level and their creativity never stops. I would use MSWord for keyboarding and I would have students create friendly letters. One of my favorite Word projects is creati...
It has been awhile...Girl, I have been on and off layoff status and just now getting settled in. I have a 5th / 6th split homeroom...God is still good and I am very thankful to still be hanging in there.
Anyway, check out the link below for some lessons that might help you:

If you ever get a chance to go to NECC, go! It is a technology lover's dream! Now, I hope I don't have to wait another year to meet up. Maybe over the summer? Have an inexpensive lunch somewhere?
Ashara, I know, months later and now I respond! I just knew we would meet up with each other at MACUL! We did not. So, here are some questions for you:
are you on facebook? I just joined and I must say I'm impressed with it. Next question, are you going to NECC in DC?
Hi Ashara:
It's been a while, I know, but have you been attending LNA training with Ms. Palmer? If so, what do you think of it? Are you a part of the LNA training?
The morning workshop is focused on writing process and using low, mid, and high tech assistive tech linked with the 6+1 Traits. Participants will have hands on experience with multiple materials - portable notetakers, software and Internet resources. The pm workshop is also hands on using MS Word and PPT + to create materials for all content areas plus share with students for publishing purposes. Look fwd to hearing from you Monday.
Hi - not it's not filled and would love to have you attend. AM has 11 registered / pm. has 17 (Rose McKenzie has great stuff to share then). We are having the preconf @ ATTIC in the Harris Bldg. Call me Monday 866-3788 if questions. Not sure about on site registration / but anything can be arranged. My DPS email is martha.skoglund@detroitk12.org. Talk to you soon, Chris Skoglund
Thanks for the invitation. My mom is about to leave where I grew up there on Collingwood. The last time I was in the lab was for one of the CLiP rotation meetings when the computer literacy program first began. 23 labs had at least 8 Apple IIs and we all thought we were hot stuff. I was at Drew and we had the largest lab - 17 Apples. Looks like some progress is being made at least with the hardware. ^o^
I would be glad to fill you in. Congrats on admission to WSU - got my BA there.
The last time I visited Durfee I started to cry. The computer room was in my old homeroom - Room 221 - that used to be the sewing room. The tears were a big surprise. ^o^
Technology is the forgotten curriculum everywhere. We have to just keep pushing. Part of the problem is administrations refusal to force the issue. I was reading a study by Yong Zhao who was quoting teachers who said they did not want to make any changes. I thought it weird that education is the only profession I know where the employees can refuse to do things and still keep their jobs.
Greetings Fellow Teachers,
Wordle.net is a great tool to use with your students to create an emphasis on specific words and ideas. It is a program used to generate “word clouds” from the text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence t...
