Howard! We've missed you... Welcome to MACUL Space, my friend!

How's retirement?

Hi Howard,
Try starting a GIS forum on the main page of MACUL Space and see if you get any response.
I contacted a teacher where I used to work who was using GIS in one of her classes at the alternative high school about working with you, but she did not respond...
I'll keep thinking.

Welcome to MACUL Space, Howard! I have you and Dr. Leneway to thank for getting me started on this path of ed tech enlightenment 7 years ago, so it's an honor to have you here with us.

Hi, Howard. I don't know if you remember me from WMU in the early 80's, but I taught classes for you for both faculty/staff and summer camp for kids. At the time I was a grad student in the Dept of Psychology. After spending almost 20 years in the industrial training field, I have returned to public education computing via a job with the Foundation for Behavioral Resources in Augusta. We run two charter schools, one in Portage and one in Battle Creek.
How's Jon V. doing?
Take care.

Hi, Howard. Thanks for writing back. Glad to hear you are well and still using your knowledge and skills, as well as finding extended time to relax. By the way, when I told my wife Ellen about contacting you, she said that a coworker of hers at the VBISD, Janice DiGiovanni, had you as her adviser for her masters degree. Do you remember Janice? She's just returned from San Antonio to work again for the ISD (just couldn't leave west Michigan).

Henry, Thanks for the info on Janice DiGiovanni. I wondered where she went after her husband departed Kalamazoo as city manager. She was a top notch student with an interesting technology related thesis. Tell your wife to pass along to janice a "Welcome back to Michigan" for me. Howard

Hi Howard,
It's so good to "see" you here. It looks like you've been busy traveling and enjoying retirement. Since we saw you at your retirement party we've added one more to our family but we're done now. =)
I hope to see you at the conference. I'll be there all 3 days!

Hello my dear friend! Thanks for commenting, and including photos of So. Haven... maybe someone in the MACUL space would be interested in buying my gorgeous house for sale there?! The first photo could be taken from my front porch- (hey, were you staying the weekend at the house? I doubt it, no furniture makes it really tough!) Glad you're doing so well, I've missed you- hi to Charlotte, talk to you soon buddy. - Tracy

I don't think my retirement budget will allow me to buy a new house!!! Most teachers don't have those levels of funds. You need to look for the 'Big Spenders"!!! We go to eat at South Haven on our way home from trips up north visiting son or from attending conferences, etc. Making plans now for summer visits of kids and grandkids. A new grandchild is expected in late June! More later. Howard

Hi Howard,

With your work in Education Technology, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service. Here’s a public class recording you might find of interest.
