I do absolutley LOVE the new library! It is such a pleasure to walk into each morning. It looks great and it works great.

I know about twitter but have not signed up yet. I will do that soon. There are many people I'd like to follow after hearing them at MACUL.

One of the social studies teachers and I are trying to get an RSS feed lesson together so that students can access the most up to date research possible from our databases. We sell it to them by saying that once they set up a search the RSS feeds do the research for them.

Recently I have come across two new (free) web sites that are very cool....what sites have you come across?

www.ustream.tv will allow you to broadcast live to the internet and allow any one to view your broadcast. You can embed the broadcast on any web page.

http://qik.com/ Is kinda like ustream, except that you can broadcast live from your phone! You could also embed the broadcast on any web page. This site is only in its Alpha stage.

I am only a School Trustee, but I could come up with many uses for this technology...very cool I think!

Training, training, training. Make sure you allocate enough - a huge chunk-- of that moola to train your teachers how to use the new toys you will be giving them. Make sure it ties to curricular needs. Get an energetic speaker/program in that gets teachers excited about making these changes in their classrooms/teaching styles/resources/etc.
Hire me to help out :)
Good luck and have fun!!

Wow, first bond passed in your district in 34 years? Everyone must be giddy with all the new toys coming. I can't wait to see more Lapeer people on the site too. My mother in law live up in Columbiaville, so now I can say I know more than just family up in the area :)

Welcome to MACUL Space, John! You'll have to share your secret about how you got teenagers to talk about politics seriously and from a well informed standpoint :)
