Rote learning prevails in the vast majority of curricula used in public schools across the nation. Govenors are struggling to get new businesses to locate in their states,but can't provide a thinking labor pool that is large enough to fill the jobs. It is great to see that there is so much buzz about technology in the clssroom. The future workforce will definately have to be tech literate. For example, two of the qualifications to get a job at one of Chrysler LLC's engine plants is: 1.) possess a two year degree; 2.) Possess a certifiable technical skill.See More

With your work in IT, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service. Here’s a public class recording you might find of interest.
