Dale, I see you have switched to Smoothboard 1.5. Is there anything else? It keeps bugging me to register it. Is this the program you are running this fall. Should I just break down and get it? Any other software tips you have would be great. Matt

Point and Shoot Camcorder from Pure Digital Technologies

Carolyn McCarthy did a write-up on the Point and Shoot Camcorder in the winter 2007 edition of the Macul Journal, and I thought I'd support that piece with video from the Point and Shoot I purchased in April. The built in USB port is fantastic, and the quality isn't all that bad. Due to its limited features (zoom in/zoom out) it's very user friendly - my six year old understood how to use it in less than a minute.

I've been working with Chris Cuppert and Patti Weeg over in Wicomico, Maryland with this one and its been a pretty neat experience. Instead of sending file downloads to them I've been creating videos of the app, uploading it to teachertube, notifying them via email, making changes bas

Long Division Prototype

I've been working on a way to incorporate the subtraction elements found in long division for about a year now, and now I think I have it right. Now I can start working on larger problems.

Your name was given to me as someone who's students could be interested in writing an article for the Student Column of the MACUL Journal on how they are using technology in the classroom.

Please let me know if you are interested.

Thanks,

Jim

I just joined the Scratch group and I am really geeked to use it with my 4-5th graders. Do you have any tips on where to find some good self paced tutorials for me so I can become a Scratch master like yourself? I've been all over the MIT site. Thanks.

Thanks for the response.
Good idea to look into the MSU EdTech program. Again, I wish more of my fellow teachers in DetPubSchools would look into EdTech as well, but so many probably feel that they don't need it or that the coursework is too difficult

Not sure which files you are supported as attachments to blog posts, but my guess is that you can post just about anything and everything. Give it a go.

Agreed on Flushing- it is a wonderful place to live. I am a Math Curriculum Coach for Kdg. - 6th grade students and teachers, and this year will teach 4th - 6th grade technology. I am currently working with 2 others on the tech curriculum- very exciting!
