was unable to stay after the class that we taught. I had to get back to town, as I had to go to Lansing the next day as are village is in the process of becoming a City. I Had to go before the boundry commission on Thursday. They approved us to move forward. When is you spring break? I wish I could have been there with all of you.

Wow Danielle, that's rough with the three students suspended. Unfortunately this sounds like the classic "wrong punishment" for the crime. It would have been better to have simply reset the boys scores to zero. Taking away technology privileges is akin to banning them from paper and pencil after cheating on a test.

But, I'm sure that's beyond your control, sooooo...this is a hard one. You could have them do the dittos, but I wonder if maybe you had them read a predetermined amount of books that aren't already in RR (perhaps the number of books they "claimed" to have read), and then have to create new RR tests for those books. If they're going to cheat the system, they might as well add to it.

Not sure if that's what you were looking for, but I'm not a huge fan of taking technology away from students. You could always argue that they just have all of their RR points removed and they have to take a zero for the marking period.

I've only ever had a student abusing the internet, and had to remove their internet privileges via school policy, but she still got to use the computer.

Hi Danielle,
I enjoyed CTLC. Your presentation was great. I am still thinking about some of those stories from your kids. Wow. I am thinking of ways to use this with my 2nd graders.
It was great to meet you and look forward to meeting in techie land more. Enjoy these last days before vacation.

Hey Danielle, here's the link to my blog post about the Explorer Project, and here's the webquest I created a few years ago that can help you guide your own kids through the activity. Just have to create your own template to create the cards.
