Hi Michael,

With your work in Technology for TBAISD, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service. Here’s a public class recording you might find of interest.

I used Pinnacle Studio for a while, but last summer I purchased a MacBook for my kid. She started with iMovie and loved it. She now has Final Cut express and loves that.

For a camera I have a Nikon D40 and love it. I would not purchase the D40x or the D60, if you think you need better than the D40 move up to a D80 (bigger/ heavier) or the D300 (lots more money)

I got some great advice. Save on the camera and spend on the Glass. Lenses hold value, bodies loose value very fast.

Thanks should be fun....looks like you do lots of video projects...what program do you use? Cameras? I have a little videography business and film weddings. I use Pinnacle studio 11 but I am not really happy with it.

Thanks, I have been given a lot of opportunities and MACUL is an organization that helps teachers use technology to improve education. It is easy to work for something that works this well.

The UP is going to miss you Mike. I'm sure we'll all still see you around. Gonna be tough to fill your shoes. You are such a great supporter of MACUL in the U.P. and all over the state.

You've been pretty busy, Mike! I saw all of your nice U.P. MACUL Photos so I used my admin powers and both that album and your macul08 album are now featured on the Albums Page of the photos.

Mike,
That is our south pier lighthouse here in South Haven. We are right on Lake Michigan. Thanks much for the welcome!! It is nice to see it in the summer, but there are also some pretty awesome winter shots as well. Have a great weekend.

MACUL is 32 years young

MACUL is 32 years young this year. What a change 32 years can make!

I first attended the MACUL conference to learn about Logo programming, which we were using in our schools as additions to Math, Science, and occasionally other subjects. I also wanted to find out about the newest version of hardware/software that we were using with our students. At that time, we had one computer at the back of the room for educational games, and if you were lucky, the classroom would have an extra computer on t… Continue

Home grown Video

Yesterday I posted a short video about convection current. This was a test we conducted in our office to see if we could have a fully student produced product that could compete with United Streaming. I understand that we don't have the search engine or the connection to benchmarks and standards, but in most cases getting the content is the most expensive part.

This video was shot with two cameras in 1 take with no staging prior to the event. The student that created the video is going
