This is more of a personal post than a technical/education one...I unexpectedly became foster parent for 2 nieces and 2 nephews last Thursday, the week before MACUL! Any tips for surviving 3 whole days away (or maybe the tips need to be for my husband, who will be with them alone for the first time)? They are 13, 6 and twins 3 1/2 years old. Any thoughts?

One of my favorite things each year is to travel to Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronics Show. Although the show is not educationally focused, a good many of the prototypes that are presented for consumer use end up in some form in classrooms. It is exciting to see the debut of new technologies and to try to guess which ones will make it and which will be duds.

I had a great time in San Antonio at the NECC conference, and have set up a Zoho notebook with my notes from the conference. Hope the notebook is as interesting to you as it was for me taking the notes!

The 2008 MACUL conference this week has a fully functional 21st Century Model Classroom in the lobby of the DeVos Place Exhibit hall. Many vendors will be sponsoring sessions in the classroom.
