"I was tagged in via Ben's efforts. Twitter is a nice vehicle for this kind of thing. I'd be interested in the results as well."

Don't Mind Me

I'm not from Michigan but I'm a fan of Ben's from way back so I had to check out this site and see what amazing things were going on. Hope y'all don't mind a poor, backwards Alabama boy now living in VA joining in. :)

Dude, welcome to MACUL Space! It's nice to have you here, although in retrospect, I should have invited you from the get go, as the people here would love your thoughts when it comes to ed tech.

I felt something like a trespasser, being from VA and all, but I wanted to see what you were up to. It's a really good idea. I've got a good friend on the board of VSTE (the Va version of MACUL) and I might push this idea to her. Although, we got a VSTE forum that last year and it was a big deal so we're kind of easing into things :)

It looks really good. I am impressed. I like this style of site because it seems to relax people and lead to more instantaneous response/conversations. It also seems to bring in a lot of people who don't participate otherwise. It's very nice for getting groups like this together.

Oh, and don't feel like a trespasser either :) This site is open to the entire ed tech community, not just those of us in Michigan.

And you're right; the ability to socialize and have a more relaxed area for conversation does tend to pull in a wider audience, something I'm pretty excited about.

Hi Tom, Ben suggested that you might have some insight to the item I posted on the forum yesterday about placing computers in students' homes. Any insight will be appreciated. TIA
