I'm interested in the Pre-Conference workshop. I started using an iPhone about three weeks ago and I think it is the best teaching tool ever! I have used it to signal the end of class periods, keeping track of the cute things kids say, reading the Free Press, tracking the weather, accessing pictures, and documentating student behavior. I am interested in seeing how to use other functions and apps with students. Continue

Education of today is validated after an exam, and most exams expect students to have the ability to retain matter taught to them and reproduce the same. Is this method right? I've recently been hired as a teacher consultant in my school district. I'm currently looking for schools to visit that utilize inquiry, problem, or project based learning on a large scale...perhaps an entire grade level, school, or district serving as a model school in this area. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding schools I may be able to visit?
In addition, I'm also seeking PD opportunities in this area. Any suggestions regarding PD opportunities are also appreciated. Thanks! Continue

The most common writing requirement in upper-division courses is the term paper. The importance of the term paper tends to be neglected. Why is a term paper so important? The main reason is that it will make up a big part of your final grade. You might be deceived as to its importance because most teachers will not give much class discussion time to these papers. When your instructor does not give you detailed instructions for your term paper writing… Continue

These days, internet is being used considerably by students as well as by the teachers. I think, moving towards electronic books and materials will help the students to learn better.
Huge amount of college funds are spent on books and other study material. In addition to this, they have to be carried all around campus. The relationship between students and the existing study materials is getting difficult. So it makes sense, for the teachers and students alike to look for alternatives.

Here’s a great mashup of history and cutting-edge culture: At a recent Voices of a People’s History event, hip-hop artist Lupe Fiasco gave life to two very different but powerful pieces of the American story. First Lupe read an excerpt from an anti-war leaflet written during the Vietnam conflict by two civil rights activists. Then, he stirred up the crowd with the chorus of Public Enemy’s 1989 hit “Fight the Power.” Watch the video below, and read on to learn more about the pieces that Lupe perf… Continue
