Bumbling through

Wow, I am only two weeks into this new job, and I am just overwhelmed. I can't believe how many questions I ask every day. I am trying to figure out who is who and who is responsible for what. I can't function without my schedule in my hand because I show up at the wrong place at the wrong time for the wrong activity. I hope this gets a little bit easier! This grade has to do this, and this grade needs to work on this and oh, yeah, by the way, you need to have all of the administrative log ins… Continue

Skyping to Japan ... and back

Had fun helping the Calvin College Handbell Choir conduct a videolink between Grand Rapids, Michigan and Tokyo, Japan last week. My wife is the director of the Calvin group and we connected with our good friend Scott Ponzani who teaches at the Christian Academy in Japan. See http://caj.or.jp/

We're working on a curriculum that would help middle school teachers satisfy the METS in a CD format.

It would also help those of you who want your students to get the IC3 Certification.

Don't get me wrong, integration is still the name of the game...but this would also help.

We'll be showcasing it at MACUL this next spring.

On a personal note, I passed my A+ Certification. While you Techie's out… Continue

K12 Online Conference....please don't let us down

With all of the buzz and hullabaloo going on about the K12 Online Conference this year, I thought I'd better get my act together and "sit in" on a few sessions. While I still think there's a certain physical and/or personal intimacy missing from the conference, I was hoping that an wiki-based presentation would be a great way to see how interactivity for the… Continue
