B.I.C. Butt in Chair
Dreaming is not writing.  We can have many thoughts and dreams about writing, but thoughts and dreams is not writing.  To write you need to look at your thoughts and dreams and select one of them, set your butt in a chair, and just start writing.

What?

Many people want to write articles, stories and author books, but most do not. How many people do you know that say, "I could write a book." or "I could write an article better than that idiot!" or "I have always wanted to write a book."  I bet you know dozens of people that have said that.  How many of them really ever do?

Over the many years of my writing career, I have discovered the only way to really get to writing is to put your butt in a chair and write.  Stop talking about it.  Stop complaining about. Stop worrying about.  Butt in chair and write!  It is the only way to get things done.

You might not be great at first.  You might actually be really bad.  On the other hand, you might really be able to write and be comfortable doing so.  Give it a try and if you like it, try again, work hard, discover something about yourself.  Let that writer inside of you come out.  If you discover writing isn't for you, you can move on. If you discover writing is for you, you can move on to better writing.

I can think of more excuses in one day not to get something done.  Enough with the excuses, just do it. B.I.C. Butt in Chair.

Thanks for the inspirational acronym! Something that sticks in one's memory, for sure! I've had more than one professor suggest I publish my writings and I'm about to give it a try. Perhaps B.I.C. is just what I need to get over the "about to" hump. Thank you, Janie Lynn.  In the meantime, I'm pretty excited about a program for young authors that we are launching at a new computer learning center in Novi, MI. It's been a dream of mine for years and after an indefinite lay off I decided to give it a go.  I've been blessed to have two awesome writing instruction experts help with the curriculum for this class. The class is called Create an eBook to Share. Check it out on our web site. DigitalInkLLC.com I'd love to get your feedback. I'm familiar with your works. Thanks again for your encouraging words.
