I like the value of NIing in general and want students to have a positive first experience in using them. And the MACUL Ning is a active, knowledgeable, and supportive group.
SD is definitely a great place to visit. Especially if you plan it right (e.g. Middle of the summer is hot and smog can be an issue). There are many great things to do within a short distance: beach, desert, mountains, Wild Animal park, SD Zoo, Balboa Park, Disneyland, Mexico, Universal Park...
