Glad to join this group, it should be fun and interesting. I have been using Ning for almost a year now, the Classroom 2.0 group is really good. Hope you don't get too overwhelmed as the year goes on...pace yourself....
Thanks Ben, I'm glad to join the group and looking forward to many great conversations!

Check out the Presentation component in Google documents. Create your slides there, publish on web, chat while your developing or viewing...so why spend all this money on MS licenses right???

Are you aware of the Association of Personal Computer User Groups, http://www.apcug.net/ ? You can look up local user groups on that site.

Yes I am in cahoots with that Porter guy. My job is Server support at the EUPISD. I'm not much into blogging etc. so I'm not too active on this site yet.
Hey Ben,
I'll write more soon. Thank you for being so welcoming to new people. I am inviting many people from the Innovative Teachers Forum to join MACUL Space. They really like the looks of MACUL and MACUL Space. Friendly people like you help make it happen!
Microsoft is setting up an Innovative Teachers Network and an Innovative Leaders Network also. It is in Beta form right now. I get to be part of it and all my friends do too. There are some exciting things to come.

B.T.W. Do you know what file types you can attach to blog posts. I could put the app in a compressed folder along with documentation and make it available in the post.
Ben, I know it was a bit presumptuous on my part, but when you have been in education as long as I have, not necessarily a good thing, you develop a sense for good teaching and the kind of people who do it. Your enthusiasm and passion for teaching comes across in your discussions, posts and comments so I feel comfortable saying "You get it" You may not be there yet but that is where you are headed...keep it up!!!!
Hey Ben! Yes, I've found out what de-stressed means and it is a good thing. Still need some part-time work to live in NJ but something will come up. Thanks for the welcome.
Hey Ben- Thanks for the note. I am a Mattawan Alumni! (1988) I am looking forward to this network- exchanging, sharing, ...
I've started my own blog and receive a rare comment. This group seems much more social! Thanks
Thanks for the warning! That one was actually moving when the picture was taken. Amazing that dinosaurs like that started out eating plants until Adam sinned and death entered the world. Definitely wouldn't want to meet one in person now.
Thanks for the welcome, looking forward to future interaction. I don't currently teach but I do support our K-12 school's technology needs, so definitely open to better methods related to technology in the classroom.
Hi Ben,
Janine is the one responsible for me being connected. I did a few ASK programs with her at the ISD and she asked, after 8 years of doing the ASK program in Macomb, "Why don't you do this from home."
She helped me make the connections with Polycom and get me set up. It is great!!!

I teach special education, music and computer classes. Grade level is the equivalent of your Junior High. Students are eleven, twelve, thirteen years old.
